Allowing God to help you help the world

Now, let's go back to something I introduced in the last section.  Turning your life over to me.

What is your first reaction to hearing "Turning your life over to God"?  Is it fear?  Is it uneasiness?  Is it distrust?

Sadly, many have given the impression that if you turn your life over to me, I will work you to the bone twenty four hours a day to spread the word of religion, or send you to a foreign country to be a missionary.  Nothing can be further from the truth.

I am the most responsible being in all of existence.  I am also the kindest, the wisest, the gentlest, and the most loving.  If you give me permission to come in and guide you, then you will experience a dramatic change in your life.

You may find your life becoming more calm, more peaceful, more happy and joyful.  If you allow me to do so, I can guide and direct you throughout the days, the weeks, and the years.  I will guide you according to your own special gifts, your own special talents.  If you are a writer, I will send ideas for new books.  If you enjoy helping others, I might inspire you to work at a homeless shelter.

I will cater to your special talents.  If you are an artist, I will not send you to Asia to preach Christianity or Islam and build churches or Jewish temples.  Rather, I will inspire you to do pictures or paintings.

Remember that I am responsible, kind, wise, and loving.  When I look at a situation, I immediately know how to make it work out so that all involved will benefit.  Therefore, if you turn your life over to me, you will find yourself receiving many benefits and unexpected bonuses!

My road is not hard.  My way is smooth and gentle.  If you allow me to take the steering wheel, I will guide you to a place that you enjoy being at, doing things you enjoy doing, and being with people you like.  You will still have time to do the things you want, to enjoy your hobbies.

Let us use a parable to describe this.  Once upon a time there was a father who had two children.  All three of them were very close and very attached to each other.  One day, the children came up to their father and said, "Father, we have thought for a while, and we have made a decision.  From now on, we will do whatever you want us to do.  We will do anything you ask of us."

Now, what will the father do?  Will he say, "I'm delighted!  I'll be happy to give you tasks that you enjoy and love doing."  Or will he say, "I'm going to work you to the bone.  I’m going to make you regret you ever made that decision!"

What would a loving human father choose?

If I were the human father, I would have chosen the first option.

If you turn your life over to me, I will not abuse you and crackle with sadistic glee.  I would never do such a thing.

If you wish, I can also help guide your thoughts.  You can give me permission to intercept and help guide your thoughts towards more love.  If you wish, I can guide you in mind, body, and spirit.

But there is a requirement for all this.  There is something you have to do in order for me to guide your days, for me to gently take control and help you be happy and joyous.

What is that requirement?  You must give me permission to do all this.  You are a being of free will, and I never intrude upon free will.  Therefore, if you do not give me permission, I will not come in and gently take control.  I will stand and observe, but not interfere.

If you want me to work for your benefit, you need to give me permission.  You need to say, "God, please take over.  I hand this situation over to you.  Please guide it, and guide me."  When you give me permission, I smile and immediately go to work, sending angels, thoughts and inspirations to you and to everyone connected with you.

If you give me control, I will be very gentle, very loving and very caring.  I will not work you to the bone.  I will gently guide you to places and people where you can shine and be joyous.

All you have to do is give me permission to do so.

"What can I do?" you ask.  "How can I help?  How can I make the world a better place?"

Fear not child, there is much you can do.  You can do so much without having to go and donate to charities, to become a missionary, or to write a book.  There is so much you can do in your everyday life to make the world a better place.

What are some of these things?  There are two very important ones that I will share with you.

1.  Be a bringer of light:  Smile often, laugh often.  Be kind.  Be compassionate.  Listen.  Do not pass judgments of any kind.  Be the rock that people can cling to in the storm.  Be the one who is kind to all, who is friendly and compassionate towards all, and who does not judge all.

Jesus was one of these people.  As I have said before, his life was an example of how you can live.  Therefore, try following his example, and strive to be like him.

A smile is one of the most powerful tools you have.  Simply smiling at someone can brighten a person's day, or even turn their life around.  If a person is convinced that there is no good in the world and seeks to kill themselves, your smile could be the thing that changes their mind.  Some have come to earth for the sole purpose of giving a smile to someone who needed it.

Being kind and compassionate is another powerful tool you have.  When someone is in trouble or needs a shoulder to cry on, say, "I am here."  Be there for others, even when they are not aware of it.

Listening is another powerful tool.  Have you ever noticed that while you have two ears, you have only one mouth?  Try listening to what people have to say.  When they talk, let them do most of the talking.  Simply listening to what they have to say can allow people to unveil their souls.  If the world listened more instead of talking, you would be surprised by the results.

Listen to other people and their opinions.  Listen to what they say.  Do not pass judgment on what they say or believe.  Simply accept it without trying to change their opinions.  Do this and your relationships with others will be better.

Judgments are a terrible thing.  They cripple, destroy, break down and humiliate.  Do you not know the sting of judgment when it is leveled upon you?  Therefore, do not judge others.  Nobody needs to be judged, because they are doing the best they can with what they have.  I do not judge, so why should you?

If you do your best to follow the advice I have given you, then you will make a difference.  For everything you do in life has a ripple effect.  Being kind to someone will start a chain reaction that will spread throughout the world.  A simple smile can positively affect thousands across the world, who will in turn smile to another and start the chain anew.

Therefore, the simple things you have are often the most powerful.  Use them wisely, and you can easily change the world.  Everyone changes the world, for good or better.  The question is, do you want to heal the world?

What's another thing you can do?

2.  Use God in your everyday life.  Use God's love, patience, kindness and gentleness to spread light through the world.  The easiest way to do this is to ask me to come into your life and guide you.  Give me permission to work through you, and together we will make the world a beautiful place.

With both of us as partners, we can do so much.  With you as my assistant, I can help make the world a better place while catering to your strengths, your interests and your talents.  Together you and I are a team, working to make the world a garden of Eden.

While these two things are the basics, there is still other things you can do.  You can donate to charities.  You can spend some time doing community service to make your community more beautiful, thus making other people happy, who will in turn be nice to others, who will then start a chain reaction of happiness, all thanks to you.

You can volunteer at a library, at an animal shelter or at an orphanage.  You can positively influence so many in so many ways that the list is almost endless.

But if you need to boil it down, here is what you can do to change the world:

1.  Be loving.

2.  Be kind.

3.  Listen.

4.  Make no judgments.

5.  Respect others points of view.

6.  Be accepting.

Do these things, and I promise you that you can, and will, change the world.

*

The mountain is in front of us my child.  It is in plain sight, stretching into the sky and beyond.  It is beautiful, it is magnificent, and it is there for you.  All you have to do is reach this place is come to it.

It is so simple, yet so many are afraid to come to this place.  "There are dangers in the field!"  They say.  "We should stay here where we are!  Let us not change our ways!"  They see danger where there is none.  They see this gentle field full of unseen peril where in reality, the only danger they face is from themselves.

Fear and the ego will whisper to you that this is all a trick, that this is all false.  "It is a trick of Satan!"  They will whisper.  "Don't change!  Stay with what has been written, what has been done!"  Will you listen to fear?  Will you listen to the ego?  These want you to be afraid.  They want to control you.

There is a glorious life in front of you.  There is nothing holding you back.  The path is there.  There are no gates, no obstacles.  All you have to do is start walking.  The only thing holding you back is yourself.

Others will tell you that it is a trick, that you will be damned for going down this path.  Fear and the ego have them tightly in their grasp.  They listen to their fear and their ego.  As a result, they are afraid of change, even if the change would be more beneficial to them then their current life.

As I have said before, you are all so used to living under fear that you no longer recognize it.  Yet I am not fear, and I am not fearful.  I am offering you all a better life, a move loving way, a loving hand.  You are so used to living with this fear that you are afraid that this is all too good to be true.

Trust me, it is true.

Humanity now stands upon a brink.  On one side lies fear, the old ways, the old religions, the old beliefs (some of which never worked in the first place).  This way has been followed for centuries.  As a result, there are wars, misunderstandings, hate, discrimination and fear.

On the other side lies love, acceptance, and a true realization of who I am.  If humanity takes this path, they will grow spiritually, and they will grow.  Humanity will thrive and grow if they take this path.

The question is, which way are you going to go my child?  The future is completely up to you.  The path you take is completely up to you.  I simply stand by and observe.  I make no judgments upon those who take either path.

Ever so slowly, humanity is realizing that I am nothing but love.  I do not judge, I do not condemn, I do not get wrathful or angry.  Humanity is realizing that I am all loving, all accepting and all forgiving, that I care about you, not about your theology or what you believe.

Yet fear is still there.  Fear is standing behind you, shouting that it's a trick, that it's a lie.  Fear wants to dominate you.  Fear wants to tell you that there is only one way to God and that everything else is false.

But remember my child that fear and ego affected the authors of your holy books.  Fear and ego has worked its way into your religions and turned me into a monster when I was never a monster to begin with.

Fear says that there is only one way back to me.  Fear says that I am selective, judgmental and wrathful.  Fear says that there is only one earthly source of knowledge that is correct, and that everything else is false (even when there is fear and hate, and contradictions in that source).  Fear says that some will be saved, and that others will not be saved.  Fear says that there is a devil out to get you.  Fear wants to dominate you.

Love says that there are infinitely many ways back to me.  Love says that I embrace all, that I pass judgment upon no one, and that I am all loving and all accepting.  Love says that there are many earthly sources of knowledge and wisdom.  Love says that all will be saved, and that all will eventually come to heaven.  Love says that the only enemy you face is fear.  Love wants to guide you.

Will you listen to fear?  Or will you listen to love, and thus to me?

What will it be?
